Welcome to our first newsletter for the NZ Animal business directory.


As at 4th October 2020 we have 308 businesses across New Zealand recorded, covering 50 business activities, from adoptions, boarding, desexing, grooming, puppy schools, rescue/sanctuaries and veterinarians.

Please log in using our top menu, and go to 'your businesses'. You will be given a list of businesses associated with your email address. Select a location and you will see basic details on your activity.


If you want changes, you can complete the form at the bottom of the screen. If you are registered with multiple businesses, please do this for each of your businesses.


Please review the services currently recorded and add as many as you want that your activity provides.


If you deal with other animal-related business services, please check to see if they are listed. If they are not found in our directory please ask the owner/manger to contact us, or contact us directly about their business.


NEW FEATURES:

1) DESCRIPTION: When you are logged in and have selected a business, you can update a business description. Once you save your entry, the new description will immediately appear on your public page.


2) COVID: We also have a COVID status.


When you are logged in and have selected a business, you can update your covid level and optional text as well. This will be useful to the current covid situation in your part of the country. Any changes will be immediately updated to your public profile.


SEARCH FEATURES:

We have two searches available, with a third search option currently being developped.


1) Basic word search in the http://animals.kwister.com/search/ screen.


Advise a word or short phrase (Road name, business name, street number, suburb etc) and it will search our database for any businesses that match.


2) A map search is in the directories menu at the top. http://animals.kwister.com/directory/


Select your area/region, and it will bring up all the businesses we have in that region.


You can then search by a service. The screen will refresh and display the map again with only the businesses in that region that have that service assiociated with the business.


3) a new search currently in development, but is working, is the ability to search by a service (reverse of the map search).

As at today, 4 October 2020 it is working, though I may tweak / change things for this search in the next few days / week for future expansion, and more businesses are added to the database.




As searching by services offered is a big part of the site, it is important you check your business listing and contact us to modify your record to include any additional services you offer.

With their feedback, I have added a few extra features, and located, and fixed an error with the map-search.


a) error: Their business was located with the word search, but when i tried the map search, it was not comming up in the results.


I have now located the problem, and fixed the map search.


b) With their suggestion, I have added their business logo to their business page, and have added rotating pictures above their list of services.
